Wobblers

The Wobbler is the artificial bait reminding natural food of a pike. As these baits volume has no value, under what corner of sight the pike sees this bait: it all the same looks as the small small fish who is for it suitable extraction. Bait movements simulate movements of a small fish. The majority of wobblers is produced from plastic, and some of a balza tree. Usually the bait has from one to three threefold or double hooks.

Types of wobblers for pike catching

The Spectrum of use of wobblers is much wider, than at fluctuating or rotating spoon-baits. They can float or plunge into water. In a forward part of many wobblers the blade sometimes similar to a lip is established. The form of this blade and speed of conducting in many respects define, on what depth the wobbler will fall.

The Form and a wobbler design allow it to work on greater depth, than a fluctuating or rotating spoon-bait. For more distant throws the wobbler weight can be increased. At conducting of a spoon or a spinner the direction of a tension of a fishing-line and a corner of an inclination of a fishing-rod are calculated as though on an uplifting of a bait from water, and the wobbler design allows a bait to make equal horizontal swimming during reeling.

The Majority of wobblers is programmed for work on certain depth, however the above speed of conducting, the falls a bait more deeply. Some wobblers can be adjusted for work on different depths.

For example, baits of type have a "swimwizz" and a "beliver" in a forward part on two rings for fishing-line fastening. If the fishing-line fastens to the top ring, the wobbler falls on depth and briskly moves. If the fishing-line fastens to the bottom ring, the bait easy moves on small depth. As an example of a wobbler with a flexible metal lip it is possible to result a "cisko-keed". The his lip is more bent, the more briskly and depth of its immersing is less than movement of a bait. If to a lip to give a horizontal direction, the bait will fall more deeply, and its movements become quieter.

Some wobblers, for example, find fault-lou with firms " an ABU Garsia ", are equipped by a mobile lip which can be adjusted for five various depths. At its top position depth maximum, at lowering on each subsequent level depth of immersing of a bait decreases. In last position when the lip is completely rejected back, the wobbler floats practically at a water surface.

The majority of wobblers however has only one ring for fishing-line fastening. Many small, superficial wobblers work most actively if fasten by a special loop for baits. Wobblers of the greater size can fasten to a fishing-line in hard knot or by means of a swivel-carabine.

Floating and sinking wobblers

The Floating wobbler is a good, volume bait with which help it is possible to catch a pike both at a water surface, and on depths to 10 metres. At easing of draught of a fishing-line the wobbler rises on a surface and again falls on depth at reeling renewal. Thus its natural movements involve in themselves both a pike and other predatory fish.

Floating wobblers are convenient for using at a slow both average current and insignificant depth of a reservoir. In the complicated situations, such as the dense water vegetation, coast overgrown with trees or a stony bottom, it is expedient to release a floating wobbler downstream which will carry it to a place of feeding of a pike then it is possible to begin its conducting.

Sinking wobblers more remind fluctuating or rotating spoon-baits as they can be used for pike catching on depth of 5-15 metres. If the wobbler has plunged on the necessary depth, and reeling is slow enough, the bait will work for the bottom until speed of conducting will not increase and will not lift it to a surface.

Other types of wobblers

Wobblers of type of a minnow are baits similar to small fishes in length about 5 - 20 centimetres which are exact copies of natural extraction of a pike. These floating or sinking baits, possibly, use the greatest popularity.

Short and compact wobblers are produced specially for fishing-rods of an easy class. These wobblers, named a krank-baits, perfectly well behave at throws. Their sinking variants, with the long or short beak, calculated on various depths are issued both floating, and, beginning approximately from 5 - 8 metres, up to a water surface. In many plugs rattles which publish sounds during conducting are built in. Such sound plugs can be used also for a trolling.

The Greatest wobblers are intended for a trolling. They are clumsy at a throw for which heavy tackles are necessary. As the large pike hunts for the big extraction, these wobblers are good at a trolling on spacious sites of reservoirs where it is possible to catch a large pike. Use of such big wobblers means, that the fisher has aimed at large fish. Despite the big weight, these baits it is possible to throw at the limited space, on shoal and in reservoirs of average depth.

The Wobbler-magnum reminds a standard bait, but is made specially for a trolling of a salmon in the rivers of the western part of the North America and in the sea. These wobblers can be used on depths to 15 metres depending on speed of conducting and type of used sinking baits.

Wobblers for a fishing at a water surface

Wobblers for a fishing at a water surface is a special type of the floating bait made specially for a fishing of a pike and other predators which during the summer period are fed on shoal or at a water surface.

Fishing by means of these baits leaves to the fisher unforgettable impressions as the pike hunts at a surface and it is possible to see, how it suffices a bait. To make cutting during the necessary moment when the pike rushes on a bait, the big ability is required.

There is a set of versions of wobblers for a fishing at a water surface. The kind of a bait with one or two "propellers" which rotate during conducting is most extended, making foam a water surface. When the necessary speed of reeling is reached, work of "propeller" and the bait create rather seductive combination. The form of the case of these baits reminds a cigar, therefore their movements in water are smooth.

Without "propeller", but at correct speed of conducting these likes a cigars wobblers float, wagging here and there. Their conducting consists of a series of consecutive and equal pullings up of a bait.

The Special type of wobblers is equipped by the wings located on both sides in the middle or in the beginning of the case. These wings force a bait to deviate backwards-forward. Thus on each side baits the splash of the water reminding movements of a scared baby bird is distributed.

Other special kind of wobblers has grooves in the forward part which spray water before a bait at its conducting by means of consecutive jerks.

These waters of a bait used at a surface usually small or the average size. On them catch a pike and an asp. For a pike there are special baits which jerk-baits are called. They have the long streamline case with flat sides that allows them quickly and exactly to slide in water at conducting by irregular jerks.

Some jerk-baits are equipped by the metal disk directed downwards in a tail part that allows to sink a little a little a bait during conducting. Baits without this cargo work for a surface. Usually these baits of the considerable sizes also demand the special tackle consisting of a short and elastic fishing-rod, a step-up-gear reel and a wattled fishing-line. At a throw these baits fall to water with the big splash. Conducting should consist of non-uniform jerks, is better directed every which way or even to a water surface.

All baits for catching of a pike at a surface are most good-catching in an active food of predators in the top sheets of water at temperature not more low 16 - 18 °С. The wobblers calculated on a superficial fishing can be good-catching enough even on depth 5 - 6 metres in places with dense water vegetation. The pike often hides in these thickets, waiting for small birds and fishes who usually appear early in the morning or in the evening.
