the Review a spinning's reels

the Predecessor of the modern step-up-gear reel has been created hour and silver affairs by the master from Kentucky George Snyder in the beginning of XIX century. This fact explains, why the first reels were called as kentuky. Snyder managed to create the reel in which the hasp rotated about the axis some times at one turn of the handle. Working out of similar reels proceeded, and in the market there were other names. However more perfect reels have started to produce only in the beginning 20-3Ох years of XX century.

Step-up-gear reels

the Step-up-gear reel For the last some decades step-up-gear reels have changed radically. For example, reels for catching by a trolling of a salmon, a perch or a pike-muskinong of usually step-up-gear type. However now they are much easier on the design, than a standard step-up-gear reel, and, that is especially important, possess good system of braking. Their hasps often become from metal, therefore they do not approach for throws. On the other hand, the price for them is not great, that it is possible to carry to number of their advantages.

The peak of popularity of step-up-gear reels has come on the eve of the Second World War. After war in the market inertialess reels as allowed better began to dominate, than animators to make a throw with a new thin nylon fishing-line.

On an inertialess reel the hasp rotates only when the brake is included. In the animator the hasp rotates both during a throw, and at fishing-line reeling. It means, that energy of a throw is told to a hasp and a fishing-line, that at a wrong throw leads to a spontaneous descent of a fishing-line and "beard" formation.
This problem for beginning fishers has transformed the animator into the torture machine though skilled fishers frequently prefer this type.

The step-up-gear reel consists of many parts. To achieve good results, using these reels for distant throws of small easy baits, the fisher should possess good skills and is thin to feel a throw.

Many reels are equipped by the adaptations regulating winding of a fishing-line. Some manufacturers now offer reels with the given adaptations which are moved apart on two half when the hasp is unwound. When there comes the reeling moment, the hasp joins and automatically makes active the given device.

Brake on a step-up-gear reel of usually so-called star-shaped type as the screw fastening it it is similar to a star. For the last years the big popularity step-up-gear reels with a magnetic brake began to use. They prevent a free course of a hasp rotating at a throw. As force of this brake is regulated, these reels are recommended for the beginning fishers who are afraid of complication of a fishing-line in "beard".

Inertialess reels.

Inertialess reels became popular after the Second World War when there were nylon fishing-lines. The first fishing-rod with the inertialess reel has been patented in 1905 by Englishman Illingvortom. Its reel was called «Illingvort» and, basically, worked as, modern inertialess reels.

the Inertialess reel Now these reels are issued practically all sizes - small and superficial reels for openwork fishing to the "coffee grinders" used for a throw of heavy baits and a fishing of a salmon. The hasp of these reels rotates in parallel a fishing-rod. At a fishing-lines throw it is pulled together through a hasp cheek, and at reeling it is picked up by the packer and returns back on a hasp. Advantage of this type of reels consist that they are simple in use and reduce a friction at a throw that allows to throw a bait further. Thereupon it is important to pick up a fishing-line for a hasp: to small reels a thin fishing-line, and to big - thicker.

The brake represents the important detail of the reel. When fish takes a bait, the brake joins in action and slows down a fishing-line descent. The brake consists of one or more disks made of teflon which at inclusion start to rub the friend about the friend. If the fishing-line descends from the reel non-uniformly, means, the brake works badly. The fishing-line should descend in regular intervals and smoothly. At the majority of reels brake adjustment is located on a back part of the case, and at some - on the hasp.

The transfer number of reels can vary, but usually makes from 1:3 to 1:6. For a spinning the number from 1:3,5 to 1:5 is optimum. At catching of large fish the low transfer number more approaches.
The inertialess reel consists of set of moving parts. The hasp should rotate exactly and freely when the packer reels up on it a fishing-line. Reels with two or three ball-bearings provide as much as possible smooth movement and are most reliable.

The antibackspacing prevents return movement of a hasp. On some reels there is a signal which click prompts to the fisher, that fish took a bait. It is the big help at trolls.
The open type of the inertialess reel almost releases it from a friction and allows to use very thin fishing-line. It also gives the chance to supervise a fishing-line descent manually, holding a fishing-line a finger. The fishing-line can be stopped, simply having pressed its finger to a hasp.

Recently there was a new kind of the inertialess reel which is called "autocastes". With it there is no necessity manually to include the packer: it automatically rises into place by simultaneous pressing a fishing-line and a small lever.

a spinning reel of the closed type

On the design inertialess reels of the closed type basically are similar to other spinnings reels except for the cone-shaped cover closing a hasp and its nest. The fishing-line descends through an aperture in this cover, thus there is an insignificant friction when the fishing-line starts to descend through a cheek of a hasp and accepts the central position for an exit through this aperture.

On inertialess reels of the closed type the button of clearing of a fishing-line is established. Accuracy of a throw depends on how the fisher supervises the moment of pressing of this button and a fishing-line descent.

At these reels is positive and negative sides. With their help it is impossible to make a distant exact throw, however they are reliable and simple in circulation. Unfortunately, they are seldom supplied by good system of braking. On the other hand, reels of the closed type are good for using at the limited visibility and in darkness, and also at magnificent vegetation as the grass and other plants do not get on a hasp. According to many fishers, reels of the closed type in the best way approach for beginners.

Inertialess reels or step-up-gear reels ?

The Skilled fisher-sportsman seldom doubts at a reel choice. Any novelty is estimated taking into account the mechanical functions peculiar to many step-up-gear reels. At a reel choice it is necessary to weigh all its positive and negative sides.

Is better inertialess reels approach for a throw of easy equipments, but with their help it is possible to throw and baits in weight in 100 - 150 grammes. They perfectly behave at throws against a wind, are simple in use and demand a leaving and service minimum.

By means of the step-up-gear reel it is difficult to throw easy baits in 1 - 4 grammes. Often enough they suppose "beard" formation, especially at throws against a wind when the wind picks up your spoon-bait, and the hasp continues to rotate. At a throw often it is necessary to hold a hasp with a finger, especially, when the bait concerns waters that does not allow to use these reels for night fishing. However at reeling the animator allows to supervise and feel better a bait and all its movements, than an inertialess reel, step-up-gear reels are good for a throw of heavy baits and a take out of large fish.

In other words, the skilled fisher who likes mechanical components, most likely, will choose a step-up-gear reel. Other skilled fisherman preferring simple and reliable reels, will stop the choice on an inertialess reel more likely. Beginning fishers are often typed experience with the reel of the closed type, but soon switched to inertialess reels to increase range of the throws.
